Who It's For
If you see brassiness, dullness or yellow tones creeping in, this service restores the clean shade you originally loved. It suits blondes, balayage and highlighted hair needing a quick refresh between colour visits.
It is also great for brunettes wanting to cool warmth or add richness, and for natural or blended grey to counter yellowing with soft silver or beige reflects. It is a low-commitment way to refine colour without a full recolour.
Duration & Appointment Timing
Most appointments fit comfortably within an hour, depending on hair length, density and the finish you want. Processing typically takes up to 20 minutes, with time allowed for consultation and a professional dry.
Book as a standalone refresh or add it after lightening. Arrange your visit when tone starts to fade or brassiness appears, often between 3 and 6 weeks.
Aftercare & Maintenance
Wait 24 hours before shampooing to let the tone settle. Use colour-safe, sulphate-free shampoo and conditioner, and rinse in lukewarm water.
Protect colour with heat shield when styling and UV filters in sun. For blondes, use a purple shampoo once a week to keep brassiness at bay; brunettes may prefer a blue-toning product. Do not overuse toning shampoos as they can dull shine.
Toners naturally fade. Most clients refresh every 4 to 8 weeks depending on hair porosity, lifestyle and holiday plans. Your stylist will advise the ideal routine.

After using box dyes for so many years my hair had so many different bands of colours in it that I knew it was time to go to a good hairdressers. So glad I chose Nicholas Ablitt. Staff are so welcoming & friendly to everyone who walks through the door. We chatted how to deal with my hair when i first stepped in many years ago. I always get a professional finish and cut & dried how I like it. Been more than 5 years now since I first went which says something in itself. Always a pleasure to go there have a cuppa & a chat while your hair is being styled. Prices are also very competitive. Thanks guys 💕
